Outreach

Outreach donations

We would like to enable as many people as possible to attend the Conference. Unfortunately, there are countries where music librarians are unable to obtain funding from the usual sources, and the IAML Outreach Fund on its own cannot meet the demand. These colleagues always make a great contribution to the conference, so you are invited to make a donation to help them attend. Donors are acknowledged in the official conference programme. If you are able to make a donation, however small, please fill in the box on the booking form. Thank you in advance.

Outreach support

If you think you may qualify for support from the Outreach Fund, please contact Gary Jones for more information. Gary.Jones@newcastle.edu.au

Outreach Report 2007

The Sydney IAML Conference is unique in a number of ways but of most significance for the Outreach Program is its distance from the path well trodden. Sydney is a long way from anywhere in the world and that includes places like Perth in Western Australia and the Northern Territory on the same continent. A large component of all conference attendees' costs was therefore travel costs. Applications for assistance through the Outreach Program reflected this fact.

Fifteen applications from twelve different countries were eventually received with many more interested queries about support. Using the Outreach Guidelines for support, a significant proportion of the applicants for assistance to the Sydney Conference has been offered variously, assistance with travel costs, accommodation costs, conference fees and per diem costs. All who applied for it deserved to receive assistance but due to our own financial constraints, there were those we were unable to assist and our Conference will be poorer for their absence.

The Sydney Conference Committee is grateful to all those who generously donated funds to enable us to assist our colleagues from around the world, most particularly, the previous Conference organisers at Goteborg. The Sydney Committee would dearly love to continue this generous tradition.
